1. The Short Version
TaxSetu is a static educational website. We don't run user accounts, we don't have a server database, and we never see the numbers you type into our calculators. Most features run entirely inside your browser.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
- Community posts, likes, your display name, poll votes, theme preference and consent choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device on their own and can be erased by clearing your browser data.
- Calculator inputs are processed in memory only and are never transmitted.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. For EEA/UK visitors, consent choices are managed through Google's consent framework where enabled.
4. Analytics
If traffic analytics are enabled by the site owner, they collect anonymised usage metrics (page views, approximate geography, device type). No personal tax data is ever included.
5. Third-Party Links
We link to official sources (incometax.gov.in, CBDT). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
6. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
