About TaxSetu

TaxSetu exists for one reason: Indian tax law shouldn't need a translator.

Our Mission

When India replaced its 65-year-old Income Tax Act with the Income Tax Act 2025 (effective 1 April 2026), millions of taxpayers, students and small-business owners suddenly had to relearn the basics — new section numbers, the "Tax Year" concept, consolidated TDS sections. TaxSetu explains the new law in plain English, with worked examples instead of legal jargon.

What We Publish

  • Chapter-wise explainers of the Income Tax Act 2025 with calculations
  • Free tools: tax calculator, regime comparer, section mapper, Tax Year converter
  • A community space where taxpayers help taxpayers

Editorial Policy (E-E-A-T)

  • Sources: our content is based on the Income-tax Act 2025 as notified (India Code), Budget/Finance Act documents (India Budget), the Income Tax Rules 2026 and CBDT communications via the e-filing portal
  • Review: every page carries a "last reviewed" date and is re-checked when tax law changes
  • Corrections: found an error? Write to us — we correct verified mistakes within 48 hours and note the change
  • Independence: we are not affiliated with the Income Tax Department or any government body

How We Verify Numbers

  • Every rate, threshold and date is traced to the Finance Act text, CBDT notification or live portal behavior — then re-checked inside a worked example before publishing
  • Our calculators are tested against known answers (e.g. ₹15L salary → ₹97,500) on every review cycle
  • When law changes, the dated changelog records what moved and which guides were updated

Update Cadence

Every guide is re-verified each quarter and within 48 hours of any major Budget, CBDT or portal change. The review date at the bottom of each article shows when it was last checked.
